Wood Brooch | Sunburst Chrysanthemum

A flower cut from the grain. The Sunburst Chrysanthemum radiates in fine petal layers, and because it is cut from a single piece of hardwood, the wood's natural lines run straight through the bloom and catch light from every angle.

Materials and craft

I precision laser-cut each brooch from sustainably sourced exotic hardwood, then finish it with food-safe oil and beeswax and hand-check it. Every wood has its own grain and color, so no two are identical. Made in my one-person studio in Hamilton, Ohio.

Care: Keep it dry and wipe it with a soft cloth. If the wood looks dry over time, refresh it with a drop of food-safe mineral oil or wood butter.
